Summer/Road Rage

Does yelling bupid stitch (no that is not really what I said and it was the real thing) to the lady in the red car from Warshington (as they like to pronounce it around here) in front of my two lovely daughters and then proceeding to speed up to be next to said lady and honking my horn like a maniac and waving my fist at her constitute road rage? She nearly made me run my van into the back of one of those school portables that they were transporting on the freeway. I used to swear with the best of them but cleaned up my mouth years ago. My girls will need therapy or something, although all they did was laugh hysterically at me. I am so ashamed.:( I need a time out.

Summer has taken over my life. Transcribing for silly doctors is taking over my life. Refereeing my children's fights/social calendar/needs/wants has taken over my life (really, I do love them lots!). Never mind my house because it is just being ignored and has not taken over anything except itself.

Anyways . . . we are having a wonderful time. Movies, library, friends, swimming, parks, lazy summer afternoons of reading, field trips, etc., is making the summer go by way too fast. No big vacations for us this year except for a mini-trip to Seattle in 10 weeks and a small camping trip which is mostly for the kids (see below).

My hubby is going to Seattle on a business trip and I am going with him. Family, water, trees, and Spud's here I come (it does not look like the picture anymore and it is wonderful and even if you don't like fish the chips are OUTRAGEOUSLY good). My daughter and husband get to go camping in July at Girls Camp for the church. It is her first year and my hubby is going up as a priesthood holder and basically just has to be there just in case. Lucky. I am not a huge camping girl. I love hiking and beaches and the outdoors, but I love hotels at the end of the day. I just say lucky because of the peace and quiet. I may have to get a sitter and go up and enjoy with him. I hope you all enjoy the summer and do not give up on me. I love your comments and visits.:)

My Life Monday - Week 6

My Life Monday - Week 6 - A Favorite Childhood Toy

Man, I am behind. I still need to do Week 5. Where is the time going? Right away, I knew which toy I would pick. This toy stands out in my mind more than any. The Christmas that I was around 7 or 8 me and my sister each got a beautiful Madame Alexander doll. They were both from the Pussycat collection. I know, it kind of sounds like a stripper but she was beautiful. It is weird, but I can even remember the way she looked and smelled when I first pulled her out of the box. I loved that doll more than anything that I owned. I used to carry her around in an old baby pack that my dad used for my sister and me when we were babies. She was even subjected to IVs when we played hospital and rushed her to the emergency room because of a deathly illness (what can I say, my mom is a nurse). One other thing, don't give expensive dolls to kids because I literally LOVED her to pieces and took very good care of her, but she was simply subjected to a lot of hugs and kisses. The thing is, she did not pee, poop, get a rash (my sister got a doll once for Christmas that actually got a diaper rash), eat anything, grow hair, sing, dance, skip rope, walk or whatever dolls do now, but she was amazing and I loved her so much. I found an exact picture of her posted below. Anyways . . . I loved her and I wish I knew exactly where she was. I am not sure, but I had so much fun playing with her.

The Heat Is On

I am melting. This poor girl from Seattle can't take the heat. I have lived here in this place for about 9 years minus our 1 year stint to Pennsylvania and it is still.too.blasted.hot.for.me! So, we did this today. Water shoots up from the ground and every hour they play music and the water kind of dances to it. The kids loved it. Good fun except for the small tantrum that was thrown by my stubborn 4-year-old because I would not spend 2.50 at Ben and Jerrys for a half cup serving of ice cream. What is up with that? Where is the BYU Creamery when you need it but even if we had seen something else she wouldn't have gotten it? When will my kids learn that tantrums = nothing? My 13-year-old sister-in-law is visiting for the week because her mom is in Seattle where it.is.not.hot, so I still have not gotten to My Life Monday. Hopefully, I will do that before this coming Monday. I know what I want to do and I just need to sit down and do it. It has been crazy this week. Hope you are all enjoying the summer fun.:)

Time . . . .

Where is it going these days? As I come to look at my blog, I realize that I have let a week go by with nary a word. This is sad. I started this so that I could keep up with some form of journal writing. My butt needs to get it in gear. We have been sick off and on pretty much for the past two to three weeks. My whole family got a nasty virus/pink eye and I felt like my arms were dragging on the ground all the time and nothing was getting done.

My daughter did graduate from sixth grade this past Wednesday and the girl, she is smart. Her teacher called me about three weeks ago and said that he had picked her as one of the girls from his class to get an award they give around here called the Hope of America award and she also got the President's award for outstanding academic excellence. Why yes, I am bragging and I would luv her no matter what she did, but this sure takes the edge off all those nights of cracking the whip. No, not literally but boy we sure had a struggle getting her to do her homework. We only have one child right now in regular school and I really do not know how parents with multiple children in school keep up with ALL THE PROJECTS.:) I don't know how single parents do it either. Her teachers were awesome and very creative this year and she learned a lot. It was a good year, but we are ready for summer that is for sure.

My middle girl graduated from her first year of preschool. It was an extremely cute program and she has blossomed this year so much because of it. My boy, he is just a cutie. He had tubes put in his ears a week or so ago and it has done wonders. I didn't realize that he could not hear. The doc said he could not hear at all out of his right ear. I thought he was just ignoring me, as men are prone to do.:) We have been truly blessed because his speech has not suffered at all because of it. He is talking so much better than my middle child did at this age which is one of the reasons we put her in preschool and she has made progress by leaps and bound.

We are watching Napoleon Dynamite right now? Why, oh why, is this movie so funny to me? I can't figure it out. It is just one of life's mysteries. Hope you are all doing well and getting geared up for summer and ready to make some good bloggin memories.:) We will see you all tomorrow. I am still thinkin on My Life Monday and I am drawing a blank. It will come to me, I am sure. See ya all soon!
